Coin dedicated to Lithuanian language
The common side of the coin is the same as on the regular €2 circulation coins.On the national side of the coin, one of the most beautiful Lithuanian words –– AČIŪ (THANK YOU) is inscribed against a background of letters of the Lithuanian font, created on the basis of the Latin alphabet; the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA) and the year of issue 2015 are placed at the bottom of the word. The Lithuanian Mint mark is also impressed. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European flag.
The external part of the coin is made of a copper-nickel alloy, the inner part — of three layers: nickel-brass/nickel/nickel-brass

The edge lettering is the same as on the regular €2 circulation coins issued by Lithuania: „LAISVĖ * VIENYBĖ * GEROVĖ“ (FREEDOM * UNITY* WELL-BEING).
The national side of the coin is designed by Liudas Parulskis and Giedrius Paulauskis.
The common side of the coin is designed by Luc Luycx.
The mintage of the coin is 1,000,000, of which 10,000 coins are BU quality in a numismatic package.

The coin was minted at the UAB Lithuanian Mint.
Please be informed that the coin will be launched on 14 December 2015.
€2 denomination commemorative coins of BU quality in a numismatic package will be sold at the Cash Offices of the Bank of Lithuania as usual (in observance of the Regulations for the Sale of Numismatic Items of the Bank of Lithuania, approved by Resolution No 03-209 of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania of 27 November 2014).
Coins in rolls (unc quality) will be distributed to domestic and foreign banks operating in Lithuania and depositing and disbursing cash, with which the Bank of Lithuania has signed an agreement for the provision of cash services. These coins will not be exchanged at the Bank of Lithuania‘s Cash Offices.
Commemorative euro coins are legal tender across the euro area.
