The baht (Thai: บาท, sign: ฿; code: THB) is the currency of Thailand. It is subdivided into 100 satang (สตางค์). The issuance of currency is the responsibility of the Bank of Thailand.

According to SWIFT, as of October 2014, the Thai baht ranked as the tenth most frequently used world payment currency.

Coins: 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 satang, ฿1, ฿2, ฿5,฿10
Banknotes: ฿20, ฿50, ฿100, ฿500, ฿1000

Arrival:

National currency: no limit
Foreign currency: to declare from 20 000 USD

Departure:

National currency: allows up to 50 000 THB
Foreign currency: to declare from 20 000 USD

Comment:
Travelers traveling to Lao PDR., Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Chinese province of Yunnan are allowed to take out up to 2 000 000 THB but have to declare any amount exceeding 450 000THB.
